There’s an infinite number of ways the 2020 season, whatever’s left of it, could play out. Should MLB play a shortened, realigned season, with teams squaring off with their spring training neighbors, ZiPS projects the Yankees would go 69-43, and finish as the top team in their hypothetical league. I suppose that qualifies as good news. New York Post | George A. King: King spoke to Adam Warren, who was a part of minor league camp this spring training as his rehabs from Tommy John surgery. Obviously, this spring was nothing like his previous camp experiences with the Yankees, with the 32-year-old quarantining with the rest of the team’s prospects after a player tested positive for coronavirus last month. Warren was much more fortunate than his young camp-mates, as he has a house in Tampa. The right-hander is continuing to progress with his rehab, getting creative to do whatever exercises he can at home. New York Post | Jordan Montgomery: That would be Yankees left-hander Jordan Montgomery, who penned an article for Post in which he expressed some optimism that a season would be played this year. He states that he would be fine with the so-called Arizona Plan, reasoning that it’s “basically what I’m doing now, except we’d be playing baseball.” Montgomery also highlights some of the steps he’s taken to try to help those most vulnerable during the pandemic.
