It had been 658 days since Syracuse football had won a game on the road. That changed yesterday, as the Orange picked up a big 29-9 win over the Ohio Bobcats, one that was crucial for the Dino Babers era. Sean Tucker led the Orange offense with a career-high 181 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Tucker, who racked up 626 yards and 4 touchdowns as a true freshman, has received heavy praise from teammates and fans alike, and no one is higher on Sean than versatile FB/TE/OL/DL Chris Elmore. The man they call “The Rhino” believes that the second-year back deserves the number 44, which has been worn by legendary Syracuse RBs like Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, and the late Floyd Little. For now, he’ll sport 34, and that’s a number you’ll certainly want to watch closely whenever he’s on the field. The Orange have now matched their win total from their brutal 2020-21 season, and they’ll look to surpass that when Rutgers comes to town Saturday. It’ll be the first time fans will be back in the Loud House since Syracuse’s thrilling victory over Wake Forest in November of 2019.
