How The Panthers Can Address Need For WR

The Carolina Panthers will need to address their wide receiver group if they want to compete and consistently beat opposing team’s defensive backs. DJ Moore solidified himself as a No. 1 Wideout in 2019 and with Curtis Samuel as the No. 2 or possibly Slot, the two should be a great duo in 2020. The team should add atleast 3 new talented pass catchers.

With the recent release of veteran wide receiver Jarius Wright (29), Panthers should be very active in free agency lookingfor another No. 3. Wright, who was a reliable 3rd down target, but Carolina will be going in a different direction.

The free agency period will be interesting to see who will want to come to Carolina, one name that has swirled around is Jet Wide Receiver Robby Anderson (26). If the team is serious about getting Anderson, they’ll need to offer more than the Cowboys but we definitely cant overpay. Anderson did play with Matt Rhule at Temple so we could see a reunion but I’m not sure how likely it is because of the possible high asking price.

Carolina could potentially resign Chris Hogan (31) as a No. 4 receiver with signing some other cheap veterans and younger depth players with potential.

The way the Panthers should most likely address the position will be through the draft, i expect them to pass on draft WR rounds 1 & 2. The 3rd-5th round range is where i predict they find the majority of their new receiver group. These are some options they could be in that range and i would like on the team: Chase Claypool, Notre Dame | K.J. Hill, Ohio State | Collin Johnson, Texas | Michael Pittman Jr., USC | and Jauan Jennings, Tennessee.
