The Marlins Plan To Allow Players Access to Workouts

According to AP Sports writer Steven Wine, The Miami Marlins are allowing players on the 40-man roster to have access to the spring training complex. The players will be allowed to pitch off the mound or hit in the batting cages beginning on Tuesday.

The Marlins appear to be one of the first few teams to start this process as Florida governor Ron DeSantis has labeled sports as essential.

All optional workouts are to be individual and are to have a staff member present. Social distancing guidelines will be put in place.

The MLB season was put on pause back on March 12 as well as suspending of opening day indefinitely. The league and Players Association are still working to put a plan in place for the 2020 season. Seeing that the Marlins are re-opening their facilities to their players, this could be a good sign that the league may be close to a deal to bring back the 2020 season.
