Former Nebraska DT Jahkeem Green is coming home. The Sumter native is heading to South Carolina to play under new head coach Shane Beamer after transferring away from Nebraska. Green, a former 4-star recruit, was once a South Carolina Gamecock Commit.
Green redshirted his first season, but he still has two years to play in the Gamecock’s organization. Green joined the Huskers during the second week of fall camp. He would play in three games during his redshirt season. He recorded his first tackle in his debut against No. 5 Ohio State. He also appeared against No. 15 Wisconsin and Maryland.
In his Junior season, Green played in five games and accumulated three tackles. Two of those tackles came in the season opener against No. 5 Ohio State. The other came against Illinois.
In his two years at Nebraska, he earned the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll (Fall 2019) and the Academic All-Big Ten (2020).
Bringing Jahkeem Green into the Gamecocks formation will be huge. The Gamecocks saw some of their best players enter the NFL Draft, and this has left them with some big holes. Adding Green to the Defensive Line is one step in the right direction.
