Is The Hope For Kevin Knox Lost?

Kevin Knox has failed to garner support within the Knicks organization according to Shams.

This isn’t surprising. After being the least efficient player his rookie year, fans still saw glimpses of promise within the young player. However, in his 2nd year, it almost like he progressed the wrong way, actually becoming worse.

Knox averaged 6.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and only .9 assists this year on 36% from the field and 32%. All worse from last year. (12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 37% from the field and 34% from 3).

We do have to realize however that just like a lot of the young guys this year, due to all of the free agent acquisitions, he lost 10 minutes per game.

However, at least from these past 2 years, you can see with just your eyes that Knox doesn’t seem like he really wants it. He’s not very aggressive, is scared to drive to the basket, and rarely plays with much emotion.

The only thing I can say is that he is still 20 years old, meaning he has lots of time to grow. You even saw that he is working with Lethal Shooter on his shot.

At this point, I would give Knox 1 more season to prove himself. If it doesn’t work out after that, then it’s time to move on.

Knox does fit the modern-day era, he is a stretch 4 that has somewhat of an offensive game. If he bulks up and gets stronger and more aggressive, he can definitely be a solid role player minimum.

So, it seems like there are negatives and positives to Kevin Knox right now, but what are your thoughts on him?
