Lamelo Ball is rumored to be the “unequivocally” top-rated PG on NY’s draft board.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise to many as Lamelo is viewed around the league as the top PG in the class, and most likely a top 4 prospect in the draft.
It seems like where Lamelo will be drafted will all be based on where each team ends up after the lottery, as you have some teams like the Cavs and Warriors who don’t need guards but also have teams like the Pistons and Knicks in desperate need of a franchise PG.
No matter what, I do see Lamelo Ball being selected in the top 4 based on his talent.
However, the Knicks have the 6th best odds in the lottery for the 1st pick, meaning we (most likely) will end up in the 6-7 range. If that was the case, we will have to trade up using young assets like maybe Kevin Knox or the Mavericks’ picks. Hopefully we move up in the lottery so we don’t even have to think of trading up.
With the new additions to the front office I believe that the franchise will make the right decision in the draft whatever that is.
