The Knicks have hired Frank Zanin to be an assistant GM. Frank Zanin was an advanced scout for OKC, and he recently was given praise by the late great Kobe Bryant when he became an executive with the Nets.
The Thunder have recently drafted Brandon Clarke (who they traded on draft night), Steven Adams, Reggie Jackson, Eric Bledsoe (who was traded on draft night), Russel Westbrook, James Harden, Kevin Durant, and more.
I have to say, I am very impressed with these hires, and it looks like a lot of other people are as well.
Leon Rose, who has never been apart of an NBA draft, is going to be drafting for the New York Knicks this year as their new president.
The president usually has one of the biggest voices when it comes to who the team will draft, so Leon will have a huge decision to make this summer (or whenever the draft occurs). Even though the lottery has not occurred yet, the Knicks most likely won’t move up to #1, so the Knicks will have to look at plenty of options.
I love how Leon is bringing in more experience when it comes to drafting/scouts, as I just said, he is not very experienced, and I’m sure he will take all the advice he can get.
Since this is a huge draft for the Knicks, most likely choosing who our next franchise PG is, I’m sure Leon does not want to make any mistakes.
Hopefully, the new scouting team we have will show why they have such a great reputation, and make the best pick possible, whoever that is
