Reacting to the Signing of Walt Perrin:

Today, the Knicks are finalizing hiring Jazz VP of Player Personnel Walt Perrin as an assistant general manager as they reshuffle the front office under new president Leon Rose. Perrin is a well-respected executive who has worked in the Jazz organization for 19 years.

As you guys may know, the Jazz stole both Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell from the Nuggets in the draft (thanks in part due to Walt).

I like the fact that we are hiring well-respected guys who have also had a lot of experience in the league. I feel like the organization may be going in the right direction under Leon Rose. There are a few more guys in the front office that have team options this summer but the Knicks now have their President (Leon Rose), General Manager (Scott Perry), Capoligist (Brock Aller), and Assistant GM (Walt Perrin) figured out.

I think Walt will help a lot with the draft this year, as we know that this draft has a lot of questionable players (talent-wise), and this will also be Leon Rose’s first time drafting so he will need all the help he can get. If anyone can figure out the best talent in this draft, it seems like Walt is the guy.

It seems like this was a very good pickup for the Knicks, as on twitter sports anchor Jeremiah Jensen said, “240 characters aren’t enough to describe how important (Walt) has been to the Jazz. I’m selfishly sad he’s leaving us but he’s earned this opportunity”.

The Knicks may have found their guy!
