WHY THE MILWAUKEE BREWERS CAN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS

2019 was a year of ups and downs for the Milwaukee Brewers. They had just come off a season where they were one game shy of the World Series. In that offseason they signed Star catcher Yasmani Grandal and resigned Mike Moustakas, and this team wasn’t expected to go anywhere.
The team had a first good two months in 2019, but fell apart from June-August which saw players like Mauricio Dubon and Jesus Aguilar get traded and Drew Pomeranz, Jordan Lyles, and Ray Black coming in the deadline. 2019 also saw the callups of Keston Hiura and Trent Grisham.
September bad news struck as Christian Yelich fractured his kneecap and missed the great September run they had, going 20-7 that month and ending 89-73 and visiting the Nationals in the WildCard game, where they lost 4-3.
This offseason, a lot happened. It first saw the Brewers trade Zach Davies and Trent Grisham to San Diego for Eric Lauer and Luis Urias. Then Yasmani Grandal signed with the White Sox, Mike Moustakas signed with the Reds, then Jordan Lyles went to Texas, Eric Thames went to Washington. This team however did sign some key players such as Josh Lindblom, Justin Smoak, Jedd Gyorko, among others. The Brewers have defied the odds before, and their depth and level of skilled players can lead to them making the playoffs again despite what others think.
