My Thoughts on the Knicks Picking Up the Team Option on Scott Perry’s Contract:

The Knicks have picked up the team option on Scott Perry’s contract meaning Scott Perry will be with the team for the 2020-2021 season.

This is honestly a surprise for many as usually, new presidents like to hire their own guys, but Leon must see enough in Perry to keep him.

Scott Perry has done a solid job at drafting, drafting players such as Kevin Knox (still very young), Mitchell Robinson, Allonzo Trier, RJ Barrett, and Ignas Brazdeikis.

Scott Perry has also made some good trades like the Marcus Morris deal (we got a 1st round pick from it), and the Carmelo Anthony deal (we got Mitchell Robinson from it).

However, he has also made some odd moves such as trading Kristaps for an odd return (even though it was for the cap space you still could have gotten more assets), and not pushing for the young guys to play enough.

At the end of the day, I believe Scott Perry has tried to do what is best for the organization and has done more right than wrong. I fully believe in Scott Perry, and hopefully, he can continue leading the Knicks in the right direction.
