If the NBA season continues, the Knicks should wake up, realize that this season is a wash, and play their young guys. The Knicks have been so bad for a long, that they have many young guys with loads of potential both on the Knicks and in the G-League. However, the only way to break open that potential is to let them play during the games. The only way you will improve as a player is through the experience you get when you are on the floor. Playing in practice is one thing, but playing in the real game (not in garbage time when no one is trying) is a completely different thing. You have players like Kevin Knox and Frank Ntilikina where you can see their potential flash, but you don’t see them on your tv screen long enough to analyze and see if they can become decent players. You don’t have your future centerpiece of the team even starting (Mitchell Robinson), and RJ Barrett never has the ball in his hand. RJ Barrett thrives with the ball in his hand, but for some reason, Julius Randle is the one who controls the offense. Why is Taj Gibson, Wayne Ellington, and Bobby Portis getting minutes over Brazdeikis, Dotson, Trier, Knox, and Ntilikina? It doesn’t make sense. All of the veterans are on 1-year deals, so they won’t be back next year. Also, none of them are good enough to keep, they are all terrible. It is time to wake up and do what is right for the organization, and not just play your older guys to win meaningless games. Do what is right for the future of this organization, not what is better for the present.
