Brian Cashman said today that the Yankees are working on bringing back Dj LeMahieu and that he’s this winter’s priority. Cashman also went on to say that he wants to keep Dj LeMahieu at second base and keep Gleyber Torres at shortstop. Cashman also relayed that he isn’t trying to trade Luke Voit with the idea of moving LeMahieu to first base. Cashman told the media that LeMahieu’s free agency is “Driving the bus a little bit” for the Yankees offseason moves. Aaron Boone, also stated yesterday that it’s no secret that Dj LeMahieu is the Yankees’ number one priority this off-season. Cashman doesn’t have any “pinky promise” with LeMahieu’s agent to exceed another offer but said that he told LeMahieu’s agent that the Yankees will NOT make a move that takes them out of play for LeMahieu without calling them first.

Brian Cashman believes Gary Sanchez will be the “heir apparent” and is betting on him to “return to form.”

Brian Cashman is talking to the agents of Masahiro Tanaka and Brett Gardner and had this to say, “Generally, we’d love to have them back, but we’ll have to see how it plays out.”

Cashman said he gets “a lot of calls” from teams interested in trading for Mike Tauchman according to Bryan Hoch

As I stated earlier, Cashman isn’t trying to trade Luke Voit with the idea of moving Dj LeMahieu to first base. According to Brendan Kuty, Luke Voit, Gio Urshela will each be receiving Thurman Munson Awards in February. Earlier in the month of December, Urshela had elbow surgery, and it will keep him sidelined for 3 months.
