    He’s gone.

Jamal Adams officially requested a trade Thursday, sources confirm.

The disgruntled safety had voiced frustrations about his current contract situation. The situation is now at a boiling point.

The Jets drafted Adams in 2017, and the star has been to the Pro Bowl for the past two seasons.

Adams was playing on his rookie contract, and wanted to receive a large extension. However, the Jets chose to wait, considering they have control over Adams until 2021.

Adams has been linked to dealings since last October, when rumors spread of the Cowboys attempting to trade for Adams. Since then, he has professed his love for Texas, even going to the point of stating that he would “take a hometown discount” to go to Dallas, according to SI’s Mike Fisher.

The Jets have yet to give Adams permission to seek a trade. The ball is in GM Joe Douglas’s court.

It is anyone’s guess what happens next.
