As Seahawks Fall, 2 Former Seahawks Return

The newest members of the Seahawks are actually former members of the Seahawks, both leading Seattle to the Super Bowl twice. Former Running Backs Marshawn Lynch (AKA Beast Mode) and Robert Turbin (AKA Turbo) have made the return to Seattle after injuries have limited depth at the position. We have 2 questions about the 2 new signees.

    1. Are they still the same Running Backs that they were prior to leaving?

    2. Are they still capable of keeping up with the game?

Lets start with the least popular one with Robert Turbin. Turbin of course became a bit of a venture man after leaving Seattle as he spent the 2015 season with the Browns and the Cowboys, then heading off to the Colts where he played with former Seahawk, now XFL First Round Pick Christian Michale. He went off the grid for a few years and now he’s a member of a potentially one seeded Seattle Seahawks team.

Can he still keep up with the league today? And is he the same RB as he left?
He’ll be utilized as more of a 3rd string RB. I hope they include him for blocking and receptions. Not exclusively, but ¾ of the time he’s out there.  I’m sure he’s still in the same shape and hopefully could contribute quickly

Now lets get to Lynch, as we in a way “traded” him.

Here are his stats after leaving:

    A total of 21 games

    About 1100 yards of rushing

    And 10 TD’s in Oakland

Now the latest stat we have is from 2018 where he didn’t preform as well, not his fault due to the OLine, none the less the whole team.  But I think he can catch up with the game again as he’s only been out for a year or so.  But will he be the same? That’s a question mark as he only has a few days to get ready.  All we need him to do is run up the gut a lot just like Carson. Hopefully he can beat the dominant front 7 of the 49ers.  I expect him to start and have Travis Homer as a 2nd string as he showed good flashes against the Cardinals in Week 16.

Lynch could be utilized as we can still run him on the outside but not as much as he’s of course more of a “Powerback” weighing in at about 214 lbs.  Of course it’ll be interesting watching Lynch after being a year out of Football, just as Turbin is.  It’s exciting to see some fellow Seahawks back in town.
