The NFL Pro Bowl Is Complete and Utter Garbage, and It’s More Obvious Than Ever

Ah yes the pile of garbage that is the Pro Bowl. Every year the “best“ players in the league are voted to play in a game between AFC and NFC in Orlando, Florida. For years players and fans have been calling upon the NFL to do something to make it exciting or get rid of it. And this year just fueled that argument even more. No one tries. Players do everything in their power to not get injured, which results in a sloppy, boring slug fest. It’s not fun, ratings are down and it puts people to sleep.

What can the NFL do to save this mess? Well there’s not much they can do. One possible solution is raising the bonus player get for winning. This is definitely the best solution. Raised bonuses means more effort which in the end means a more exciting game. I don’t blame the players for not trying. But if you can raise bonus high enough players would actually care to try and win. Unfortunately it does come with it’s cons. Money. The NFL is cheap. That’s been obvious with ref disputes throughout the years. But is the NFL willing to raise the bonuses? No they won’t because it’s all about the sweet precious revenue.

The worst part? People vote for the most popular players rather than players who actually deserve to be in the game. Example? Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons wasn’t even named an Alternative despite beating Ravens saftey Earl Thomas in almost every statistical category. The NFL wants the most popular players who would bring in the most revenue rather than players who should be going to Orlando.

It’s unfortunate. That the NFL can’t have an all star game like the MLB or NBA. As of now and the near future, the Pro Bowl will be complete and utter garbage.

    I rest my case.
